Our Marae
THE WHENUA
On 25 February 1999, Kawa B3 Part block of land was set aside under the Maori Affairs Act 1953 section 437 as a Maori Reservation for a Marae and meeting place for the beneficiaries of Ngatiwai of Aotea (Great Barrier Island).
THE TRUST
Ngatiwai o Aotea Kawa Marae Trust also known as Kawa Part B3 Trust is the legal entity that administrates the affairs of Kawa Marae complex on behalf of the Ngatiwai o Aotea beneficiaries and the land owners the descents of Nupere Ngawaka. On the 4th November 2008, Ngatiwai o Aotea Kawa Marae Trust also known as Kawa Part 3 (PT3) Reservation Trust was registered as a Charitable Trust (CC22867).
